This skill—called sequencing—helps children think clearly, tell stories in order, and understand cause and effect. 👪 How Parents Can Help: Use Simple Language: After reading a short story or doing an activity together, ask your child: “What happened first?” “What happened next?” “What happened last?” Talk Through Daily Routines: You can practice sequencing while brushing teeth, getting dressed, or making a snack. For example: “First we open the toothpaste, next we brush, then we rinse.” Use Picture Cards or Drawings: Print or draw three simple pictures that show steps in a story or task. Mix them up and have your child put them in the right order. Let Them Tell Their Own Story: Ask your child to tell a short story of something they did that day. Help guide them with prompts like, “What happened first?” and praise their effort! 🧠 Why This Matters: Understanding events in order helps your child: Retell stories clearly Follow instructions Improve memory Get ready for reading and writing skills9
