- Week 1: A to F - Learning the Building Blocks 🍎📘This week focuses on introducing your child to the first six letters of the alphabet using phonics, letter shapes, and engaging visuals. Introduce letters A to F using music, daily visuals, simple object matching, and letter-sound awareness.9
- 1.0Lesson 1: Introducing A & B
- 1.1Activities: – Sing the ABC Song, then pause at A and B to repeat them slowly. – Look at picture flashcards and emphasize the beginning sounds of each object. – Let your child color the letters A and B using crayons or markers. – Play a letter matching game with magnetic letters.
- 1.2Homework: – Complete the A & B worksheet (tracing and coloring). – Ask your child to find 2 items in the house that start with A and 2 with B. Take a picture or draw them.
- 1.3Lesson 2: Exploring C & D
- 1.4Activities: – Practice tracing C and D in the air using a pointer finger. – Create a craft using a paper plate to form a letter C and a play drum for D. – Read a short story and ask your child to clap when they hear a word that starts with C or D.
- 1.5Homework: – Trace C and D with guidance and then independently. – Ask your child to tell a short sentence that includes a word starting with C and one with D.
- 1.6Lesson 3: Discovering E & F
- 1.7Activities: – Watch a 2-minute ABC video clip focused on E and F. – Play a sound match game: Show pictures and ask if they start with E or F. – Use salt or sand in a tray to trace E and F with fingers.
- 1.8Homework: – Ask your child to complete an E and F worksheet. – Point to your elbow and foot, say the letter it begins with, and encourage them to do the same.
- Week 2: G to L - Alphabet Safari 🐘🦁Learn letters G to L through movement, storytelling, drawing, and fun daily mini-challenges.9
- 2.0Lesson 1: G & H Adventure
- 2.1Activities: – G: Play a “Goat says guh” game with stuffed animals or toys. – H: Blow on your hand and talk about the H sound. – Use sidewalk chalk to draw and identify G and H.
- 2.2Homework: – Practice tracing the letters in large print then small print. – Walk around the house or outside and name 2 things that start with each letter.
- 2.3Lesson 2: I & J Island
- 2.4Activities: – Freeze a toy in an ice cube and say “I is for ice!” – J: Jump while saying words like jelly, jam, and jump. – Watch an animated video about igloos and jungle animals.
- 2.5Homework: – Trace the letters I and J. – Help your child cut and glue pictures of items that start with these letters.
- 2.6Lesson 3: K & L Kingdom
- 2.7Activities: – Pretend to fly a kite while saying “Kite starts with K!” – Roar like a lion for L and draw one together. – Practice lining up toys to form a K and L shape.
- 2.8Homework: – Write and say each letter with a parent’s help. – Collect and label (with sticky notes) 2 household objects that start with K or L.
- Week 3: M to R - Magical Letters 🌈📖This week dives deeper into the middle alphabet with creative storytelling, outdoor scavenger hunts, and simple number-letter connections9
- 3.0Lesson 1: Meet M & N
- 3.1Activities: – Make the M and N sounds using a mirror so your child can see their mouth movement. – Play a rhyme game using ‘monkey’, ‘moon’, ‘nose’, and ‘net’. – Form letters using modeling clay or playdough.
- 3.2Homework: – Color the M and N letters in your workbook. – Name a food and an animal starting with each letter.
- 3.3Lesson 2: Observe O & P
- 3.4Activities: – Shape letter O using a paper plate. Use dot markers for P. – Practice ‘popping’ up and down every time you say a P word. – Play sound guessing game: “What letter does this start with?”
- 3.5Homework: – Practice saying each letter and writing it 5 times. – Glue or tape printed objects that begin with O and P onto a poster board.
- 3.6Lesson 3: Quick Q & Rolling R
- 3.7Activities: – Practice whispering the Q sound (quiet, quack). – Go on a toy car “R”ace. Emphasize the ‘r’ sound as they race. – Read a short story where you ask the child to spot Q and R words.
- 3.8Homework: – Trace letters Q and R three times. – Match flashcard images to the right letter.
- Week 4: S to Z - Zip to the Finish Line! 🎉🧠Finish strong with energetic review games, ABC songs, letter crafts, and a celebration of your child’s progress.9
- 4.0Lesson 1: S, T & U Sound-Off
- 4.1Activities: – Make a ‘snake’ motion for S. – Build a train with blocks for T. – Use an umbrella toy or craft for U.
- 4.2Homework: – Complete the S-T-U worksheet. – Say each letter and sound while pointing to pictures.
- 4.3Lesson 2: V, W & X Explore Time
- 4.4Activities: – V: Pretend to play a violin. – W: Wiggle your fingers or body. – X: Do a treasure map and ‘X marks the spot’ hunt.
- 4.5Homework: – Draw or color 1 item for each letter. – Say 2 words for each letter with your child.
- 4.6Lesson 3: Y & Z Wrap-Up + ABC Review
- 4.7Activities: – Y: Yawn and stretch. – Z: Zoom a toy car around the room. – Sing the ABC Song while pointing to each letter.
- 4.8Homework: – Complete the Alphabet Adventure certificate. – Let your child name each letter from A–Z with help if needed.
